Terms of service
Last updated October 15, 2026
These terms cover using ply and ordering 3D printed parts from us. We've kept them in plain language. By placing an order, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
ply is an online 3D printing service run by ADDASTRA LLC (“ply”, “we”, “us”), 14600 York Rd, Ste U, Sparks Glencoe, MD 21152. Everything we sell is printed in our own shop.
2. Your account
- You can order as a guest or with an account. We sign you in with a link sent to your email, so keep your email account secure.
- Company accounts share orders and parts with the teammates you add. You're responsible for who you add.
- Give us accurate contact and shipping details. We aren't responsible for delays or losses caused by a wrong address.
3. Your files
- You keep ownership of your files and designs. We don't claim any rights in them.
- You give us permission to store, view, copy and print your files only as needed to quote, review, print, ship and support your orders, and to let you reorder them later.
- You confirm you have the right to have each file printed. If a model comes with a license (for example a free download marked “personal use only”), it's your responsibility to follow it, such as not reselling prints the license doesn't allow you to sell.
- We treat your files as confidential and only share them with the service providers we need to run ply (see our privacy policy).
4. What we won't print, and your responsibility
We don't print weapons or weapon components of any kind, including firearms, firearm parts and accessories (such as frames, receivers, magazines, suppressors or conversion parts), and anything designed to injure people. We also won't print parts that:
- are illegal to make, own, sell or ship where you or we are, or need a government license or export authorization;
- infringe someone else's patent, copyright, trademark or other rights;
- we can't print well enough to meet our quality standard.
We can't inspect what every file is or how it will be used. Our engineer review checks printability only. So by placing an order, you promise that:
- the part isn't a weapon or weapon component, and isn't something listed above;
- making, owning and using it is legal for you, and you'll follow every law that applies to it, including export-control laws;
- you have the rights to the design (see section 3).
You are solely responsible for your files, what the parts are used for, and any consequences of that use. If we learn or reasonably believe an order breaks these rules, we may cancel it at any stage (refunding any payment for parts not yet shipped), refuse future orders, keep records, and report it to the authorities where required.
5. Quotes, review and changes
- Prices and “arrives as soon as” dates are calculated instantly from your file and choices. They can change until you check out.
- Every order is reviewed by our engineers before we charge your card. Review checks that your part can be printed as ordered (material, settings, printability). It isn't a review of your design or whether it will work for your purpose.
- If a change is required to print your order, or we suggest one, we'll email you the details and the new price and date. Nothing changes without your OK. If you don't answer within 4 days, a required change cancels the order (nothing is charged) and a suggested change prints your order as you placed it.
- Our AI “Not sure what to choose?” recommendations are suggestions. The material and settings you check out with are your choice.
6. Payment
- At checkout, your card is authorized (held), not charged. We charge it after engineer review. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- If you approve a change that costs more, we charge the difference to the card you used at checkout. If it costs less, we charge less.
- Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is added where required.
7. Production and shipping
- “Arrives as soon as” dates are our best estimate, not a guarantee. Material restocks, required changes and carrier delays can move them. We'll email you if your date changes.
- We ship within the United States with the speed you choose at checkout. Shipping charges and our free-shipping offer are shown in your cart.
- If a package is lost or arrives damaged, tell us and we'll make it right (see refunds & returns).
8. About 3D printed parts
- 3D printed parts show some layer lines and small variations in size, color and surface. Colors on screen may differ slightly from the real material, and color can vary slightly between material batches.
- Unless we agree otherwise in writing, our parts are not certified as food-safe, medical-grade, flame-rated or for safety-critical use. You're responsible for deciding whether a part is suitable for your use, and for testing it.
9. If a claim arises from your order
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless ply, ADDASTRA LLC and their owners, employees and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, fines and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your files or designs, the parts we print for you or how they're used, or your breaking these terms or the law, including if a part turns out to be something we don't print.
10. Our responsibility
- We stand behind our printing: if we make a mistake, we'll reprint or refund as described in our refunds & returns policy.
- Beyond that, parts are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or downtime), and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.
11. Other terms
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Maryland, or to small-claims court.
- We may update these terms. The version on this page when you place an order applies to that order.
